The University of Salford held its inaugural Festival of Research this year, between 25th June – 20th July, at the MediaCityUK. The festival brought together academics, students, industry and the public to discuss and develop the future research strategy. At the heart of the festival is the Postgraduate Research flagship conference SPARC, where festival goers enjoyed performances, music, family friendly fun and opportunities to meet with students and staff, share research interests and experiences.
As part of the Festival a number of specifically impact-related events were run to help inspire their researchers to think more closely about the impact of their research and how they can best improve its significance and reach in the future. As Associate Lecturer at Salford, working the Post graduate researchers and research staff, I was invited to deliver SPSS Statistics and NVivo clinic sessions. It was very successful.
